The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has powered our communities for over 90 years, serving 10 million people across seven states with affordable, reliable, public power. TVA is more than just an energy provider — it’s a New Deal success story that has brought rural development, flood control, land stewardship, industrial growth, and good-paying jobs to the Valley.
Right now, TVA is under threat. The Trump Administration has gutted the TVA Board, leaving only 3 of 9 members in place. Five new nominees are awaiting confirmation in the U.S. Senate — none of them with meaningful energy experience, all of them open to privatizing TVA. Privatization would mean higher rates, fewer jobs, and Wall Street profits at the expense of the people of the Valley.
TVA has always enjoyed bipartisan support because it works. It operates without federal tax dollars, keeps energy affordable, and prioritizes people over profits.
